Game Day…Whooo

Game time is just under three hours away. The Sunday heading into a long weekend. Lets get this thing going early. Get your grills going, coolers full of beahs, and get all lubed up for some puck.

Who’s in, Who’s Out

NESN — The Bruins got a boost from three rookie defensemen in Game 1 on Thursday night, but the B’s may not need the tenderfoot trio to do it again in Game 2.

Torey Krug, Dougie Hamilton and Matt Bartkowski stepped into the lineup against the Rangers in the Eastern Conference semifinals due to injuries to Wade Redden, Andrew Ference and Dennis Seidenberg. The three not only held their own, but were a big part of the B’s overtime victory.

“A little early to say,” head coach Claude Julien said Friday morning at TD Garden. “Again, it is two days, and two days in the playoffs makes a big difference as far as getting guys back. There’s a possibility, that much I can say. Whether they will or not is too early to say right now.

“There’s no doubt that gave us a real good transition game, [Thursday night],” Julien said of the rookies. “Whether some of those guys come back or not, we’ve got to keep doing the same thing.”

Tory Krug scoring his first career playoff goal, Bartkowski scoring a goal for the B’s in game 7 against Toronto and Dougie continuing to keep his stride on the ice. Yes, the three little bears have been impressive in the playoffs for the Bruins. It can’t last and probably won’t last.

Bartkowski especially has played well for a few games it will be interesting to see how Claude manages the line up if Redden, Seidenberg and Ference are all good to go.

B’s Take Game 1 in OT

Pre-Game Skate: B’s v. Rangers Rd. 2, Game 1

Here we go. I honestly don’t even know what to say for this series. If the B’s play like they did for the last 10 minutes of game 7 against Toronto, no one should beat them. If they play like the three previous games the series might be over in three games.

On that note, let’s enjoy at least four more games of hockey. After all, we are playing a team from New York.

B’s v. Rangers Preview

So here I am thinking this post is going to be ripping apart the team for their poor playoff performance. Celebrating Claude being fired and the anticipation of what the team will look like next season.

NOPE…they’re going to drag me through at least another four games, maybe more, of me yelling at the TV and abusing my body with numerous alcoholic beverages.

I think the records over the past few seasons are a tell tale of how this series is going to go. Not necessarily who will win (Rangers in 5 BTW) but more of how the scoring will go.

Since the 2009-10 season. The two teams have played fifteen times during the regular season. The Bruins are 4-8-3 in the fifteen games.

-ONCE a team scored five goals.
-Boston hasn’t scored more than three goals on Lundqvist.
-11 of the 15 games were won by only 1 goal.
-Boston has not had multiple wins in a season during the four year span

Pre-Game Skate: Game 5

Back home…it’s winning time.

B’s have a chance to close out the series tonight at the GAHHHDEN. And with the Ottawa win last night they can rest a little easier knowing they potentially won’t have to see Pittsburgh until the Conference Finals.
