Aside from the result, which I will get to shortly, what a hell of a hockey game to open this years Stanley Cup Finals. I mean a triple OT thriller after the Hawks came back from down two goals in the third period.
Speaking of that blown third period lead, welcome back to watching Bruins hockey. How many times did we see that all season long. This is not really the time we need to see those Bruins show up and start playing games again.
As for the loss, its one game and on the road. Remember the Bruins went down 0-2 two years again against Vancouver.
Despite the early PP goal by the B’s in the third, they were outshot 15-8 in the period by the Blackhawks.
In overtime the B’s were essentially playing down two forwards. Nathan Horton left with an injury, which still baffles me. How is it that Campbell and break his leg and stay on the ice and tough it out but Horton, playing patty cake in front of the net, has to rush right to the locker room. Call it a dislocated shoulder, they pop that shit right back in and he should be good to go.
And Daugavins. WTF. Guy, the puck is on your stick and a tip in away from glory and a game one win. WHYY WHY WHYYYYY are you pulling it to your back hand and going for a fancy goal.
Game two is Saturday night, make sure you are free from the hours of 8 PM thru 1 AM if you want to watch.
