Game 5 is like Game 3, But the Opposite

Team 1 2 3 Total
Capitals 0 2 2 4
Bruins 0 2 1 3

The Bruins had a chance to take a 3-2 series lead to Washington and a chance to wrap-up the series on Sunday. The B’s failed to hold-off the Caps Saturday at the Garden and fell 4-3 and fell in the series 3-2.

After a scoreless first period it was the Caps who struck first. Semin jammed a puck home past Thomas to get the Caps on the board. Washington added a second goal before the Bruins got a pulse.

Down 2-0 the B’s scored two goals in 28 seconds. Seidenberg (1) and Marchand (1) got the Garden rockin’ and gave the place a sense that the B’s found their rythm and weren’t going to let this one get out of their grasp.

Well, Mike Knuble changed that 3:21 into the third period when he put the Caps back on top.

Johnny Boychuk (1) had a Johnny Rocket from the blue line on the, yup you guessed it, power play. Wait WHAT!?!?!

Don’t worry, in heart breaking fashion, Thomas gave up a softball goal to Brouwer with 2:27 left in the game and the Caps skated to a 4-3 victory.
