B’s Win, Split with Phoenix

Rookie -- Tyler Seguin

It was a tale of two games, for the season opening trip to Prague for the Bruins. After a sluggish 5-2 loss in game one, the Bruins came out with a lot of speed and intensity as they won the second game of the back-to-back series 3-0.

Tim Thomas got the nod in net for the B’s. Thomas looked stellar stopping all 29 shots he faced and making the decision that much harder to determine the true number one goaltender.

The play of the game came mid-way through the third period. Micheal Ryder flipped the puck out of the B’s zone, over the head of both defenseman to a wide open Tyler Seguin at center-ice and he finished it off from there. Seguin took the puck in all alone on Bryzgalov and Seguin made a quick move to the left side and snuck a back-hander into the net, for his first NHL goal.

Now back to the states to ace the Devils, in New Jersey, on Saturday.
